Corrective Action for Petroleum Filling Station
PMI responded to a report of hydrocarbon vapors at a filling station. Investigation resulted in discovery of fuel in a stormwater ditch adjacent to the facility. PMI personnel abated the released project and conducted daily monitoring/product recovery via mobile dual-phase extraction (MDPE). Corrective action began with demolition of existing buildings, removal of the underground fueling system, removal of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and groundwater and backfilling/grading the remediated area. An unknown tank was discovered and also removed. PMI engineers provided engineering design and construction administration for stormwater piping relocations, site grading and rezoning of the new replacement filling station.
