PMI has received multiple state and national engineering excellence awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and Water and Wastes Digest (WWD). We design and permit stormwater systems, civil sites, water and wastewater treatment systems, and solid waste facilities.

CIVIL ENGINEERING

Our civil engineers understand the planning required for a successful project.  We investigate every alternative and review preliminary site plans, layouts, and cost estimates with the owner to determine the most cost-effective solution.  We utilize computer modeling software to help our clients adhere to environmental regulations and minimize runoff, flooding, and pollution. Our projects include stormwater infrastructure improvements, flood studies, and site development for municipalities, state parks, and commercial projects. Additionally, PMI has been at the forefront of the design and installation of solar arrays throughout Arkansas

WASTEWATER ENGINEERING

PMI is committed to helping our clients maintain and improve sanitation of their communities and businesses.  We assist small communities, as well as large municipalities with the design and operation of their wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, and pumping stations.  We work with industries to develop pretreatment programs and obtain funding from private and governmental sources. Our licensed treatment operators offer technical assistance after construction to ensure treatment standards remain in compliance.

WATER ENGINEERING

PMI’s goal is to maintain the health and safety of our communities by providing efficient and effective water systems.  Our engineering projects include transmission and distribution lines, clarifiers, wells, chemical feed and operations buildings, storage tanks, and booster stations.  We model hydraulic systems and evaluate water sources to determine the most cost-effective plans with population growth in mind.  We take into account our clients’ budget requirements, water quality concerns, and regulatory compliance demands to help determine the best option for treatment and distribution.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING & PERMITTING

The regulatory permitting process is very complex, but our expert staff guides clients through it effeciently. We provide air-, water-, and stormwater-permitting services (including NPDES permits, SWPPPs and SPCC plans), and all plans are prepared, reviewed, and certified by our in-house professional engineers.

Clients turn to PMI for our multi-disciplined environmental approach. Our engineers work with our geologists to design site investigation plans and soil and groundwater remediation systems to meet specific project goals. Our expertise includes soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging (AS), total fluid recovery and treatment, and dual phase extraction (DPE) systems. We also plan, design and develop various impoundment closures including ponds, pits, and solid waste management units.

SOLID WASTE ENGINEERING

Our solid waste engineers are well versed in state and federal regulations.  We design and permit a variety of solid waste facilities and components and perform QA/QC services for construction of landfills.  Our experienced team received an ACEC National Engineering Excellence Award for designing a unique closure system for a hazardous waste landfill.  With a diverse staff that includes construction managers and field technicians, we also oversee monitoring well installation and perform compliance sampling and reporting.
