Aboveground Tank Integrity Testing

Per the requirements of 40 CFR 112 for SPCC plans, aboveground bulk storage containers need to be inspected on a routine basis.  PMI has a certified Steel Tank Institute SP001 inspector who performs tank inspections per the regulatory requirements.  PMI utilizes an Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) meter to determine the shell thickness of the tanks and provides a report detailing the condition of the tank, as well as any required and/or suggested maintenance upgrades.  The UT test can be completed while the tank is in service.  PMI has explored tank integrity test options and believes the UT test is the least invasive in terms of business and the most economical.
