Radioactive Site Decommission

PMI has worked in conjunction with Energy Solutions and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville since 2009 in the decommissioning of the SEFOR facility in Strickler, Arkansas.  This project has been described as a “demonstration” project to test expedited procedures for reactor site clean-up.  PMI has been involved with this project since inception of the decommission plans in 2009.  PMI has provided numerous services along the way to assist and develop in the decommission process.  This project included assessments of hazardous and nonhazardous materials; site investigations; asbestos abatement; demolition; UST removal and closure; and removal and disposal of hazardous, nonhazardous and radioactive materials.  This project is ongoing and in the final stages of decommission.
